GFS charity launches new support group in Wimbledon
Girls Friendly Society (GFS) is launching a new support group for girls.
Aimed at girls aged between 8 and 12 years old, the new group is holding a launch party on Thursday 19th September from 6 to 7pm at the Holy Trinity Church, Wimbledon, SW19 1SB. This event will be a great chance to explore and find out more about GFS. Activities will include:
- glitter face art
- talks about inspirational women
- decorating biscuits
- quizzes and games
Established in 1875, Girls Friendly Society is one of the oldest UK registered charities working to support girls and young women. The new group in Wimbledon continues the tradition helping young girls develop confidence, self-esteem, emotional well being and resilience.
Family members and carers are invited to come along on Thursday and chat with GFS volunteers to gather more information about the confidence-boosting programme and other group activities.
